Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, has officially completed a move to English Championship side Middlesbrough from Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.
The Nigerian international transfer is expected to bolster Boro’s attacking options as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.
Iheanacho, who had spent a half – season at Sevilla after joining the Spanish club from Leicester City, found his playing time limited in La Liga and struggled to make the team.
The 28-year old attacker, had 11 appearances with the Spanish club scoring 3 goals (all in the Copa del rey).
Middlesbrough’s director of football, Kieran Scott, expressed his excitement about Iheanacho’s arrival, saying, “Kelechi is a player with a proven pedigree in both the Premier League and at the international level. His versatility, creativity, and knack for scoring goals will make him a key player for us in our pursuit of promotion.”
For Middlesbrough fans, the arrival of Iheanacho is seen as a signal of the club’s ambition, with hopes that the Nigerian forward can help fire the team to a return to England’s top flight.
